Richmond upon Thames College is one of London’s top performing colleges for 16-19 year olds. The college now has around 7,000 enrolments, with 4,000 of these full-time students — each year a ‘welcome day’ is organised to introduce the new and prospective students to experience the college life. The client wanted to create a ‘summer festival’ Welcome Day event and requested a ‘youthful, summery and fun’ identity.
A ‘R’ for Richmond shape identity was created to frame a variety of Summer ‘icons’ and youth themed simple illustrations – which were deliberately non academic focused.
The ‘R’ for Richmond icon allowed for lots of variety and flexibility across the ‘Festival’ branding, including marketing collateral, online promotions and animations through to environmental graphics applications.
